Hi I’m Luna!
Founder of World Heritage!✈️🧳🗺️
I’m Luna Smith, a travel blogger from the USA. I started blogging in 2023. I love exploring new places, having adventures, and visiting UNESCO sites. I also enjoy tasty cocktails. My goal is to inspire you to travel with me as much as possible!
On our blog, The Whole World is a Playground, we share our adventures. We write about fun trips to UNESCO sites, stays in fancy hotels, and our favorite places to eat and drink. Visit the Destinations section to read about our past travels and see where we’ve been!
My hobbies, upbringing, and experiences have made me curious about the world. I am fascinated by people—their differences, interests, and how their backgrounds shape them.
I love learning from people who are different from me. I hope others can learn from me too. I share my travel adventures on my blog and social media. I write detailed articles about my experiences. I believe my stories help others understand the world in a meaningful way.
I think it’s important to share history honestly, without hiding anything.
Some people might wonder why Heritage Travel is important. Let me explain how much I love UNESCO heritage sites.
Heritage travel, as defined by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, means traveling to see places, artifacts, and activities that truly represent stories and people from the past and present. It can include exploring nature, history, and culture. In simple terms, heritage tourism is when you travel to learn about real objects or groups of people from history.
Some people think “heritage travel” is only about visiting places to learn about your own family’s history. Actually, it can also mean visiting places to learn about other people’s heritage. For example, if I visit the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina, I might be exploring my own family roots. If I go to Nepal in Italy, it could be to learn about the heritage of others. Both are examples of heritage travel.
I believe Heritage Travel helps us understand who we are and where we come from.
When people visit places that hold special meaning for them or connect to their family history, it’s important to treat it with respect. It’s something to investigate, understand, cherish, preserve, and share. These journeys should be seen as spiritual quests. They connect us to those who came before us, giving us life, identity, and a promising future. This is who we are because of them, and they are a part of us.
Understanding our cultural roots can come from learning about historical figures who spoke specific languages, lived unique lives, followed distinct traditions, or had particular physical features. Instead of feeling resentment towards those who came before us, we can show respect. This can give us a stronger sense of purpose and help us appreciate ourselves, our families, and our communities without guilt.
Knowing about your ancestry makes you feel connected to something bigger than just yourself. It helps you appreciate life more because you understand that you’re part of a legacy with deep traditions and important values. This knowledge also gives you a stronger sense of purpose and belonging.
I’ve shared my own story because it helps me understand myself and how I connect with others. It also helps me see what I have in common with other people. We all have differences, which can sometimes lead to disagreements, but I focus on the things we share. When you understand yourself, it’s easier to understand others. This understanding leads to cooperation and respect among people, which helps create a peaceful and productive community.
So grab your favorite drink and let’s do it all—dream, talk, laugh, and travel!
